# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The vegetables practically disappear into the meat, making this a sneaky way to get picky eaters to consume more nutrients without a single complaint.
  • You can prep this entirely ahead of time, keeping it ready in the refrigerator until youre ready to bake, which has saved my sanity on countless busy weeknights.
02 -
  • Overmixing the meat mixture will result in a tough, dense loaf, so use your fingertips rather than a death grip when combining ingredients.
  • The meatloaf will continue cooking slightly after removal from the oven, so taking it out when it hits exactly 165°F means it wont overcook during the resting period.
03 -
  • Sautéing the vegetables briefly before adding them to the meat mixture concentrates their flavors and removes excess moisture that could make your loaf soggy.
  • Line your measuring cup with plastic wrap before measuring sticky ingredients like ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, allowing everything to slide out cleanly with zero waste.
